Breakfast cereals process lines with twin-screw extrusion technology
The twin-screw extrusion technology for breakfast cereals has been pioneered by Clextral in the early 1970’s and more than 150 of these extrusion systems have been installed since then.
As technology has improved, the range of prepared cereals has also evolved. So simple cooked oats and cooked flaked corn have given way to sophisticated products like flaked and direct expanded cereals.
Today’s breakfast cereals can be vitamin-rich, high in fiber content, sugar- and syrup-coated, chocolate-flavored, and formed in many appealing shapes including co-extruded cereaks as well.
Multigrain twin screw extrusion line Variety of flaked cereals
Clextral twin screw extruders offer complete flexibility to process a variety of products:
• From many cereal grains: yellow or white corn, wheat, rice, wheat barley, oat flour or grits • Sweetened cereals with novelty shapes, textures and colours • Fibre-enriched and multi-grain extruded breakfast cereals with healthy appeal
Customers can visit the Test centers in France and Tampa where equipment is available for trial and R&D purposes. New breakfast cereal products are frequently created in close partnership with customers as Clextral’s experts achieve desired product characteristics with infinitely variable production parameters.
Our process is faster, simpler and more economical than the traditional batch process:
• manufacturing time of 30 minutes against 6 to 7 h (flakes) • reduced space requirement • continuous production system which can be automated • quick start up, shut down and cleaning procedures • possibility to switch easily from one product to another • simplified maintenance operations • very large range of processed raw ingredients
Processors trust Clextral to supply the technology, expertise and hands-on help in their quest for new techniques and fresh ideas in breakfast cereal production.
