Cosmetics
Thanks to its recognised know-how in classical compounding applications, Clextral was able to deploy the twin screw extrusion technology in the cosmetics industry to make complex mixtures.
To produce cosmetics, two technological operations are conventionally performed discontinuously:
- Mixing (powders)
- Dispersion (emulsions)
These operations can be performed continuously in twin screw extruders offering the following advantages:

- Physical mixing of a fatty phase (waxes, oil) with a solvent phase
- Obtaining of fine emulsions
- Differentiating product texture with respect to the batch process
- Specific environment (Atex / XP)
- Important sanitation - cleaning-in-place (CIP) aspect
