As early as 1956, Clextral took part in the growth of the plastics industry, with the manufacture of the first twin-screw machines.
The twin screw machines melt the ingredients, mainly polymers, to obtain the desired chemical reactions in a continuous, regulated process, offering production advantages compared to individual batch systems.
Main functions : material transport, mixing, kneading under pressure, shearing, pressure relief to inject additives, degassing, chemical reaction and shaping.
Main applications : compounding, granulation for all thermoplastics, masterbatch, paints, inks, adhesives, alloys, grafting, long fiber mixes, continuous reactions.
Main markets : production of plastic materials for the automotive industry, explosives, masterbatches, recycling of elaborated products, cosmetics, reactive chemistry, soap making, main markets : "biodegradable packaging material".
Development is continuing and CLEXTRAL is installing machines for the manufacture of masterbatches, cosmetics, explosives to name a few examples.
