Biodegradable setting products |
The obtaining of biodegradable setting products as an alternative to expanded polystyrene (EPS) is a concrete example of Clextral's implication privileging solutions favourable for environmental protection.
Biodegradable setting products, a new application for Clextral co-rotation twin screws, will be replacing more and more EPS chips.
In cooperation with AGRIPACK, the producer of the Exabal® product, and ULICE, the LIMAGRAIN Group's R&D Center, Clextral has transferred the process from the laboratory to the industrial scale, offering turnkey production lines with a patented process licence.
The obtained products are characterised by :
• A real immobilisation capacity by an efficient self-blocking
• A real shock damping power over a large loading range
• A low creep under load over time
And this at an interesting and competitive cost with respect to EPS chips.
Clextral supplies an automated turnkey production line for the production of biodegradable setting particles integrating the twin screw extrusion system.
